At Burnside Law, our Portsmouth personal injury attorneys are supported by a friendly, welcoming, and dedicated team of legal professionals. Our staff is central to our firm, offering answers to our clients’ questions, providing open and honest communication, and assisting our attorneys with all aspects of complex personal injury and wrongful death cases. Paralegal I - Litigation
Nick attended Shawnee State University where he earned an Associate’s degree in Applied Business with a concentration in legal assisting. Nick joined the Burnside team in February 2014 as our Litigation Paralegal. Nick most enjoys the close contact that he has with the clients while helping them through the litigation process.
Nick is a Lucasville native and enjoys watching his favorite movie, The Hunger Games, reading, spending time with his family, and fishing.

Keneda attended Shawnee State University where she received her Associate's degree in Legal Assisting Technology. She first started here as an intern in March of 2015 and became our Subrogation Specialist in May of 2015. Keneda has moved quickly up the chain and is now Paralegal I. She assembles the demand packages and gets each file ready for the attorney to take over.
In her free time, Keneda enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with her husband and son. Keneda also knows some sign language and in previous employment has had to use said skills to interpret and communicate.
Keneda is a hard worker, fast learner and determined to succeed in the legal field. She adapts well and is always ready to face and conquer new challenges.

Angelina is a North Carolina native who moved to Ohio in 2011. She joined Team Burnside in October 2016. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in marketing and hopes to one day receive her Master’s. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, reading, playing piano, and spending her time with her husband and two beautiful daughters.
Angelina’s bright personality and efficiency ensures that all of our files get a great start within our office, and our clients feel welcomed from their very first meeting. She is fluent in Spanish, which makes her a valuable asset to our firm.

Cindy began working for Burnside Law in September 2016. She works behind-the-scenes to ensure that the office staff and clients have everything they need to work together during the legal process. She has over 14 years of experience in office management and brings a fresh perspective to our office environment.
Originally from Hamilton, Ohio, she moved to Scioto County in 1994 to attend Shawnee State University and fell in love with the small-town community, thus deciding to make it her permanent home.

Legal Assistant I
Pam joined the Burnside Team in December 2017, and brings over 30 years of legal experience with her. She began her legal career as a court reporter in West Virginia, travelling to many different counties to fill in for reporters on leave. After 3 years as a court reporter, she and her husband moved to Florida due to the economic growth in the state, where she turned her attention to paralegal work focused on real estate closings and construction litigation.
After 13 years, Pam and her husband moved back home to West Virginia with their son, where she has continued to work as a paralegal focused on personal injury cases in Huntington, WV. In her spare time, she and her husband enjoy gardening, fishing, and hiking.

Legal Assistant/ Medical Records
Paul began working for Burnside Law in October, 2018. He graduated from Ashland Technical and Community College where he received his Associates in Applied Science. Paul assists the attorneys with our larger, in-depth cases.
On his spare time, Paul enjoys riding his motorcycle and restoring classic cars. He even has a cabin in West Virginia that he frequently visits. Paul brings a wide variety of skills to the table and is a valuable asset to our staff.

Stephanie is a life-long resident of Portsmouth and its surrounding communities. She graduated from Clay High School in 1994 and went on to work in Retail Management until she joined Burnside Law Office in October, 2018. Stephanie began her employment here as the front desk receptionist and has since moved on to be an Administrative Assistant in the paralegal room.
Her interests encompass a wide variety of areas including her love for animals, participating in 5K walking marathons and her goal to always be reading a book of some kind. She also enjoys keeping up with her favorite shows, Supernatural and lots of sci-fi, and spending downtime at home with family and pets.
Stephanie is very satisfied with her new position at Burnside Law and particularly enjoys working in an atmosphere with such dedicated employees who always show great pride in their work. She says it is nice to come to work in a positive environment and believe in the work you are doing.

McKenzie joined Burnside Law in September 2018. McKenzie graduated from Shawnee State University with a Bachelor’s in History and a member of Alpha Psi Omega (Theatre National Honor Society). Prior to joining Burnside, she was employed by the Adams, Scioto & Pike Mediation Services and served as a Substitute Teacher at various Scioto County Schools.
McKenzie is from Lucasville and enjoys singing and dancing. She has also participated in several local theatrical productions with Portsmouth Little Theatre and Shawnee State University. In her spare time, McKenzie enjoys showing her Hackney Pony, Michigan’s The Mentalist at various horse shows through out the State of Ohio.

Abigail joined the Burnside team in May of 2018 as a Paralegal intern and permanently joined our team in January of 2019. As the receptionist for the Firm, she is the initial contact point for new and potential clients and works hard to maintain a welcoming environment for all current and future clientele. Abigail maintains orderliness in the front office and works on multiple administrative tasks for the firm.
Abigail currently attends Kent State University where she is studying to get a bachelor’s in Criminology. Upon graduation, she plans to continue her education in law and has plans of becoming a criminal defense attorney. Abigail is a Wheelersburg native and enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and spending time with family.

Shawn is originally from Chillicothe, Ohio and moved to Portsmouth in 2016 to finish up his degree in Marketing at Shawnee State University. He then joined Burnside Law in October 2018 as an intern. On May 4th 2019, Shawn graduated with a bachelor’s degree and was soon promoted to a permanent position. Shawn handles our firm’s advertisement and communications efforts as well as our social media.
During his spare time, Shawn enjoys running, soccer, spending time with family and traveling to various places. Shawn’s hard work and dedication has proven to be an asset to our firm.
