FAQs From Clients: "Is the At-Fault Driver's Insurance Company Responsible for Paying Medical Bills?"

FAQ Friday with Burnside Law

Clients often ask: "Is the at-fault driver's insurance company responsible for paying medical bills if you've been injured in an accident?"

The answer is ultimately yes, but those bills are not paid until the claim is resolved. In other words, the total amount of medical bills will be reimbursed when the claim is settled.

It's important to understand that there is no obligation to pay medical bills as they are incurred until after the claim is resolved. In order to get the treatment you need you will have to use your medical payments, PIP, or health insurance coverage.
