Amanda Burgess

Amanda M. Burgess is an associate attorney at Burnside Brankamp Law, LLC, in Portsmouth, Ohio. Ms. Burgess practices personal injury law, serving clients in Portsmouth and throughout the entire state of Ohio. Ms. Burgess was selected as an Ohio Super Lawyer Rising Star from 2017 through 2021.

 

Ms. Burgess has over twenty years of legal experience and handles personal injury matters involving car accidents, trucking accidents, wrongful death, premises liability, catastrophic injury, and other issues. She understands that an injury or loss of a family member due to negligence has devastating financial and personal consequences and is dedicated to fighting for compensation for her clients.

 

Over the course of her career, Ms. Burgess has settled and litigated thousands of personal injury cases for Ohio residents. Prior to joining Burnside Brankamp Law, LLC, Ms. Burgess dedicated the past decade of her career to exclusively helping personal injury clients. Before that, Ms. Burgess practiced in various other areas of law, including bankruptcy, probate, estate planning, family law, juvenile law, and adoption law.

 

Ms. Burgess stays active in her legal community through membership in legal organizations. She belongs to the Portsmouth Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, Ohio Association for Justice, and American Association for Justice. She is qualified to practice in Ohio, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

 

Ms. Burgess graduated cum laude from the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor’s degree in English. She earned her law degree from the University of Dayton School of Law and received her license to practice law in 2008. While attending law school, she was the recipient of several academic and CALI awards, elected as president of the Law Students for the Arts, graduated in the top 22% of her class, and scored in the top 5% of 2008 Ohio Bar examinees.
